Aluminum Shaft Clamps — EP-SCS Series (6mm to 60mm Bore)

EP-SCS aluminum single-split shaft clamps cover nominal bores from 6 mm to 60 mm for axial positioning, guide-shaft stops and general machine locating duties. Each model uses a clamp screw across the split and is defined by bore d, outside diameter D, width B, screw M, split W and keyway K where applicable.

Use the catalogue as a dimensional selection tool rather than choosing from bore alone. A replacement that matches the shaft diameter can still be unsuitable if the outside diameter, body width or screw-access direction conflicts with the surrounding machine.

How to Compare the Models

Start with the measured shaft and locate the matching bore in the table. Then compare D and B with the available radial and axial space, and check whether the listed screw size can be reached with a tool after guards, bearings, carriages or other components are installed.

For compact mechanisms, the outside diameter may be the controlling dimension even when the bore is small. For larger shafts, the service space around the collar and the actual axial duty deserve more attention because the collar becomes a more substantial part of the machine interface.

Keyway and Plain-Bore Selection

The standard collar is plain-bore. EP-SCS10 through EP-SCS60 list a K dimension for a keyed option, while EP-SCS06 and EP-SCS08 do not show a standard K value. A keyed request should include the mating key and shaft details so the complete interface can be checked rather than relying on K alone.

Replacement and Retrofit Checks

Measure the old assembly before ordering a retrofit collar. Record the shaft diameter, outside diameter limit, available axial width, screw-access direction and any nearby shoulder, bearing, coupling or moving carriage that could interfere with the new collar.

If the existing shaft shows wear, fretting, burrs or coating buildup, note that condition in the enquiry. A worn shaft can make an otherwise correct nominal bore a poor basis for a like-for-like replacement decision.

What to Send With an RFQ

Include the EP-SCS model or required bore, quantity, actual shaft diameter, keyway requirement, application and any space restrictions. A dimensioned sketch or clear photo is recommended when the collar is part of a retrofit, paired arrangement or compact machine assembly.
